Driven by her love for nature and background in biotechnology, Karthika Parvathy started Jayma Bio Innovations to turn science into practical, sustainable products that improve everyday life. Her journey continues with a focus on responsibility, curiosity, and innovation guided by nature.

OUR MISSION & VISION
Designing solutions thatcare for people, nature, and the world we share.

We create responsible bio based products that support people, respect nature, and shape a healthier future. We build science driven products that are good for people now and better for the planet long term. We use biology to design sustainable solutions that care for life and protect our world.

Our JourneyToward a Sustainable Future

In 2022, the company was incorporated by three founders with a shared vision of building sustainable, nature-inspired innovations. During this foundational year, focused research and development began on bacterial cellulose, exploring its potential as a next-generation sustainable material.

2022

Foundation & Early Research

In 2023, the journey gained momentum with support from BIRAC and the award of the Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) fellowship. This year also marked the start of product development for Sap Symphony and Sap Sensor, blending biotechnology, electronics, and design to create meaningful plant-based sensing solutions.

2023

Grants & Product Ideation

By 2024, multiple technologies reached important validation stages. Sap Symphony advanced to TRL 5, while Sap Sensor reached TRL 3. Bacterial cellulose also achieved TRL 5, and kombucha-based material development progressed to TRL 4, strengthening the scientific and technical foundation of the company.

2024

Technology Validation

In 2025, the company secured NIDHI PRAYAS funding and received the Startup Odisha MAG Grant, accelerating product development. Sap Symphony advanced to TRL 8, Sap Sensor to TRL 5, bacterial cellulose leather reached TRL 5, and bacterial cellulose face masks progressed to TRL 4, marking a strong shift toward market readiness.

2025

Product Advancement & Recognition

In 2026, the focus moves toward commercialization and scale-up. Sap Symphony is planned for commercial launch in March 2026, bacterial cellulose leather is advancing toward TRL 6, and Sap Sensor continues to be maintained at TRL 5, reinforcing the company’s transition from research to real-world impact.
